On this Day
March 4 1971: Nicknamed the "Storm of the Century" in Quebec, Montréal and Eastern Canada experiences the worst snow storm in its history. Montréal is buried under 47 cm of snow (some say 80 cm), wind damage leaves some areas without electricity for 10 days, and 17 people die. Learn more here.

WMO HiWeather Workshop - DRAW Team Members Drs. Renee Sieber and Victoria Slonosky presented "Connecting the past and present to understand hazardous weather events via citizen science" in December 2020.
Article Publication - Drew Bush et. al has published a new paper, "Enlisting Students to Transcribe Historical Climate and Weather Data For Research: Building Knowledge Translation Via Classroom-Based Citizen Science", found here.

Article Publication - Dr. Victoria Slonosky has published a new paper, "Climate Observing During Canada's Empires, 1742-1871: People, Places and Motivations", found here.
